How To Connect Bose Soundbar To Tv

We’ve all been there. You just got home from work or school, and you want to watch your favorite show on TV but you can’t because the cable is nowhere in sight! What do you do? Well, if this has ever happened to you before it’s time for a new project: connecting your Bose Soundbar to your TV.

There are three different ways that we’ll be looking at today for doing so, so read on and find out how easy it is! But first, let’s look at some of the benefits that come with having a soundbar connected to your TV. We’ll start by talking about why hooking up a soundbar might be better than installing an additional speaker set in another room of your house.

Benefits of Having a Bose Soundbar Ready to Connect To Your TV

  • A soundbar can provide you with the sounds that you want to hear, in the exact location where they need to be, without having extra speakers strewn throughout your home (which can also cause further clutter).
  • You’ll already have your soundbar set up and ready to go, so you won’t have to find a remote to make your sound come on, or fumble around trying to find the correct volume to put it at.
  • You’ll be able to save money by not having to install extra speakers all over your house.

Now that we’ve talked about the benefits of having a soundbar, let’s talk about how you can easily connect it to your TV.

Option 1: Connecting the Bose Soundbar To Your TV Using Optical Audio

Connecting the Bose Soundbar To Your TV Using Optical Audio

First thing’s first! You need to find out if you have an Optical Audio port on the back of your soundbar… If so, great! If you don’t have one, then definitely take a look at the other two options. If you do, let’s continue!

Before you get started with the actual connection process it’s important to make sure that your TV and soundbar are both powered off. Once they’ve been turned off, go ahead and connect your Optical Audio Cable from the Optical Audio port on the back of your Bose Soundbar to the Optical Audio port on your TV.

Once you have it connected, take a look at your TV and press the “Source” or “Input” button. You should see something pop up saying that it’s searching for an external device to connect with. Once it comes across the Bose Soundbar, you should notice that it’s displayed as “Bose” and underneath the name of your soundbar you should find an option to set your connection to “Optical.”

When you’ve done all this, power on your TV and click on the input that has been designated for your Bose Soundbar, and behind it, you should find that your TV is now ready to provide the sounds from whatever channel you’re watching through your soundbar.

Option 2: Connecting The Bose Soundbar To Your TV Using a 3.5mm Stereo Cable

If you don’t have an Optical Audio port on the back of your Bose Soundbar, don’t worry! You can still connect it to your TV using a 3.5mm Stereo Cable! Just like with the first option, you need to make sure that both devices are powered off before beginning the process of connecting them. When they’re both off and ready, just go ahead and plug in one end of your 3.5mm Cable into the “Audio Out” port on the back of your soundbar, and plug in the other end to your TV’s audio-out port (it will either be located on the back or side of your TV).

Once you’ve done that, power on both devices and press the input button (it will be either “Source” or “Input”) until you see a screen pop up asking to select the device that your TV is going to use as an external audio source. When it’s been highlighted, just press the button that reads “OK” on your remote and you should hear the sounds from whatever is playing on your Bose Soundbar!

Option 3: Connecting Your Bose Sound Bar To Your TV Using an HDMI Cable

If you don’t have an Optical Audio port or a 3.5mm Stereo Cable available to connect your Bose Soundbar to your TV, then just use the HDMI port that’s on the back of it!

Just like with the other 2 options, make sure that both devices are powered off. Once they’re off, connect your HDMI cable from the back of your Bose Soundbar to an open slot on your TV.

Once you have it connected, power on both devices and navigate to the input or source button until a screen pops up asking you to pick an external device to use as your audio source. When it’s selected, just press the “OK” button on your TV remote and you’ll be able to listen to whatever is playing through your Bose Soundbar!
